Tea Cocktail: Father’s Day

Happy Father’s Day everyone!
Hot weather is well underway as Summer is right around the corner. Just like with Mother’s Day, I have another simple and refreshing tea cocktail for the occasion.

The tea used is another from Dethlefsen and Balk; Blood Orange. This fruity black tea went surprisingly well with Prosseco.
It was brewed in a 2 quart Takeya pitcher and sweetened with granulated honey.

Recipe
43 grams of tea (about 1.5 oz)
Sweetener
Riondo Prosseco Spago Nero
- Brew the tea with boiling water in the Takeya pitcher for 4 minutes and remove tea.
- Add sweetener to taste
- Chill in the fridge overnight.
- Fill glass with 1/2 tea and 1/2 Prosseco.
For a non-alcoholic version, use club soda instead of Prosseco. Brew the tea the same way as above but use 3/4 tea in a glass and 1/4 club soda so it doesn’t water down the tea too much.
A note of warning: black tea, especially loose leaf, will commonly cloud up when iced or chilled. It won’t change the flavor of the tea, it will just look opaque.

Enjoy and stay safe!
