Welcome

Hello and thank you for stopping by! Let me introduce myself. My name is Marisa Smith, owner and founder of Golden Monarch Tea LLC.

Do you feel like you don’t know what to buy, feel intimidated to try new teas, want to get into tea but don’t know where to start all because you “don’t know anything about tea”?

Too often I’ve heard customers having a disappointing experience when they go into a tea shop and want information only to find the employees didn’t know anything about the product they were trying to sell.

“I’m new to tea, so where do I start?”
“I’m not a tea person but I want to try something. What tastes the best?”
“I like xxx tea and always drink it but I want to try something new. What do you think I should get?”
“My friend/spouse/family member likes tea but I know nothing about it. What should I get them?”

I hear these questions at very often and I’ve come to the realization that customers are too afraid to make a choice themselves because they think not knowing enough about tea means there is a “wrong answer”. So naturally, someone who does know about it will always make the right choice for them. Here’s the blaring problem with that: tea is very subjective. A tea that I love might be something you hate. Others can’t make that choice for you. What I can do is equip you with the foundation to be able to make confident decisions in your tea purchasing adventures. I firmly believe that knowledge and stories sell more than pushy sales assistants following you around the store urging you to buy the product because it’s great but can’t tell you why.

I want to give consumers the information they’re looking for and more.

I’ve manged to craft a tea culture and lifestyle of my very own through my experiences and learning. I want to help others do the same thing and get the most enjoyment possible out of tea.

What to expect from the website:
Most of the site will be technical and objective information about tea. The Culture page will contain information about different brewing techniques and global traditions on brewing and tea-ware.

What to expect from the blog:
How to navigate your own tea journey by using my tea life as an example. I’ll post specifics on how I brew, step-by-step, tea reviews, thoughts and opinions, professional cuppings, my tea-ware, summaries about the tea trips I go on, and whatever other musings I have.

What’s to come:
I will be teaching online classes through Teachable.com in the future and live classes and tea tastings in Wichita. A page for scheduling will be up along with announcements on the Facebook page.

The one thing to remember is that you don’t need to be a professional to enjoy the world of tea. I want to help you craft your own tea lifestyle. So don’t be shy if you have a question that the site didn’t cover. You can email me at info@goldenmonarchtea.com
