TOST Day 6

Tost day 6

Day 6 we went to a place I’ve been wanting to see for years; Hwa Gung tea manufactory in Lishan!

Tuesday 9/19
A day in Lishan; Hwa Gung tea manufactory and garden with Johnny Tu

The early morning air was filled with the pungent scent of the famous cabbages the are was known for. The landscape was wonderfully beautiful and we took in the sights from Jing Guan Pavilion.

At the manufactory, Jonny gave us a tour of the area were we talked about the tea gardens and their farming and harvesting practices.

At another garden we discussed tea plant health, the root system, and the affect of weather and climate on the plants.

Lunch was a delicious meal cooked and prepared by the staff. We spent the rest of the day watching the clouds roll over the mountains (including us) and Jonny treating us to Hwa Gung tea. His tea is being used in a new whiskey called Teaskey.

We ended the long day with dinner and a karaoke night!

We had a packed day and a late, fun night. The next was morning was going to be rough as we had to be up early to start the long trek back down to Taipei, but it was completely worth it. Lishan will always be one of my most treasured memories.
